JR R-756: The 3-Channel Computer Radio and the Manual That Survives It

October 23, 2026

Long before 2.4 GHz took over, a serious surface radio looked like this: JR’s R-756, a 3-channel FM/PCM computer radio with a pistol grip, a telescopic antenna, and an LCD that did real work. Lap timer with memory recall. Ten model memory. Steering and throttle curves, sub-trim, servo reversing, end-point adjustment – the full computer-radio toolkit. The manual also warns that the R-756 receiver has no Battery Eliminator Circuitry, so a separate B.E.C. adaptor – part JRPA580 – is required.

Radios like this still change hands constantly, almost always without the book. We hold the printed Instruction Manual and have photographed its key pages – display and key operations, Direct Mode, the stopwatch and lap functions, curve setup, and the page-14 Data Sheet – for our Manual Library, because a computer radio without its manual is only half a radio.
